About
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that helps you explore how your past experiences, relationships, and unconscious thoughts influence your current emotions and behavior. Many of our feelings and behavioural patterns are shaped by earlier experiences; through a collaborative, open-ended conversation, psychodynamic therapy encourages self-reflection, helping you gain deeper insight into your inner world and how you relate to others. This process can lead to greater self-understanding, emotional growth, and lasting change in how you relate to yourself and the people around you.
Therapy With Me
Life’s struggles can feel overwhelming, especially when they seem to repeat themselves in your relationships, emotions, or sense of self. You might feel stuck, hopeless, or held back by patterns that you can’t quite make sense of on your own. Therapy offers a space to begin untangling these experiences - not just to find relief in the short term, but to create lasting change.
I offer a compassionate, collaborative, and creative space where you can explore what feels difficult or unclear at your own pace. My approach is not about simply observing from a distance; I work alongside your emotional state, helping you to uncover how past experiences, unconscious beliefs, and relational dynamics shape your present. Together, we will think deeply about what’s bothering you, while also opening up space for new ways of feeling, relating, and being.
Therapy must be challenging, but it doesn’t have to feel clinical or detached. Alongside pain and sadness, there’s room for curiosity, humour, and even playfulness in the process. I believe that meaningful change happens when you're met with both care and honesty; held in the difficult places of fear and grief, even gently encouraged to go deeper, to stretch towards something new and beautiful inside you - something that has probably always been there, just waiting to be re-found through your own imagination.
Psychotherapy is not about quick fixes or surface-level advice. It’s about connecting to your difficult emotions and making sense of what’s happening underneath; why certain feelings, behaviours, or relationship patterns keep returning, even when you want things to be different. Together, we will develop your ability to sit with pain and create a deeper understanding of yourself and how you relate to others, leading to foundational emotional shifts that can be both subtle yet clear, and more importantly, transformative.

Feelings that life is not worth living
While I will work with a psychodynamic approach, your own uniqueness will mean no two therapeutic journeys will be identical. Our work will be shaped by you and what feels most important and helpful to you, whether that’s focused support for a particular issue or a longer-term exploration of recurring patterns.
I can offer:
-
Short-term psychotherapy (8-16 sessions) – for targeted work on a specific issue or life transition.
-
Longer-term psychotherapy (12 months or open-ended psychotherapy) – for those seeking to explore complex and ingrained emotional patterns at a deeper level.
-
A collaborative, flexible approach – ensuring therapy remains responsive to your evolving needs and that we work towards a planned ending.
In our sessions, I won’t just listen passively, I engage with you in a way that’s thoughtful, curious, and gently challenging whenever it might be most helpful. While we'll take the time to explore what’s painful, I also hold space for humour, creativity, and the possibility of rediscovering parts of yourself that may feel buried under the weight of life. I work to create not only an empathetic, safe, reparative, and transformative space, but one that is also developmental; shaped by your earliest ways of relating to others, offering space to grow.
Exploring Therapy
Beginning psychotherapy can sometimes feel daunting, especially if you’re unsure what you’re looking for or if past experiences with therapy have left you feeling hesitant. Our first sessions would be a chance to get a feel for how we might work together, without any pressure to commit.
If you're curious about whether therapy could help, or simply want to explore what working together might feel like, get in touch to arrange an initial assessment session. There’s no pressure to commit beyond what feels beneficial.

A dynamic space for understanding
With Dynamic Practice I can offer you psychodynamic therapy as a space for growth, self-discovery, and new ways of relating. In a safe and supportive environment, we will work with shared yet different genuine emotions and challenges, allowing you to explore new ways of thinking and relating without the pressures of the outside world. My approach is grounded in trust and authenticity, helping you build healthier patterns that lead to lasting change, improved relationships, and a deeper connection with yourself.
