Hello
I'm Faisal Samadi, a psychodynamic psychotherapist working in both the NHS and private practice. My work is rooted in the belief that real change happens when we take time to understand the deeper emotional patterns shaping our lives; whether as individuals or as part of a group. In both the therapy room and in consulting spaces, I offer thoughtful, collaborative work that helps people and systems make sense of what lies beneath the surface; helping them find ways to unlock their potential for lasting transformation.
About Me as a Psychotherapist
I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist, offering private therapy for individuals seeking a dedicated, confidential space for exploration and change. My approach is collaborative, creative, and deeply engaged, helping people work through unconscious patterns that shape their emotions, thoughts, and relationships. I provide both short- and long-term evidence-based therapy for issues extending to severe anxiety, depression, trauma, complex PTSD, hopelessness, and relational difficulties.
Alongside my private practice, I work within an NHS Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), where I provide therapy to individuals with complex and high-risk presentations, in both one-to-one and group settings. A key part of my role involves conducting structured psychological assessments, developing a deep understanding of a person’s emotional world, risk levels, and treatment needs. I work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals, contributing to holistic, multidisciplinary care plans for those experiencing significant mental health challenges.
Beyond clinical work, I have contributed to academic research on unconscious group processes, social psychology, and cultural dynamics, presenting my published work at academic forums. I trained at Birkbeck, University of London, earning a BACP and BPC accredited MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling & Psychotherapy, while completing my clinical training in the NHS with a highly experienced and respected training supervisor.
My private practice reflects the same depth, thoughtfulness, and commitment as my NHS work; working to provide a careful, emotionally engaged, and high-quality psychotherapeutic experience.
